Gender Specific Drug & Alcohol Recovery
Men and women alcoholics/addicts have different experiences and problems associated with their chemical dependency use and recovery. Therefore, why shouldn't men and women have their own separate drug and alcohol recovery programs to help them more effectively deal with these issues? Mark Houston, with 19 years of experience working in the field of chemical dependency, is an advocate of gender specific drug and alcohol recovery programs that offer a RECOVERY curriculum-not a treatment curriculum. This is why he founded the Mark Houston Recovery Center for men and recently opened the doors to The Mark Houston Recovery Center for Women.
The reasons why men become addicted to drugs and/or alcohol may vary from women. Similarly, the reasons for drug addiction and drug abuse between the sexes are complex since men deal with problems differently than women do. Having gender specific drug and alcohol recovery facilities that are completely separate from one another is crucial in the disclosure and recovery process for both sexes. Equally as important is having an all male or all female staff to work with the residents.
About Mark Houston Recovery
Mark Houston Recovery was founded on the belief that alcoholism and drug addiction are lifelong, chronic, progressive diseases which demand a lifelong set of practices as a way of living if one ever hopes to experience permanent sobriety. Mark Houston Recovery only houses adult male residents, since it is believed that having a gender specific sober living environment with adult males and an all male staff will provide recovering male addicts/alcoholics with the ability to focus more clearly on their individual recovery path without disruption.
Mark Houston Recovery offers adult males several program options which consists of: a 30-day program, 60-day program and a minimum 90-day program. The high staff-to-resident ratio and 33 bed capacity also allows for more individualized attention and focus for recovery. Contact Mark Houston Recovery today at 866.877.6080 when you are ready.
